Overview
Developed as part of my Packaging Design course, Oh my dog rethinks dog nutrition from a design and sustainability perspective. The concept focuses on fresh-cooked meals for dogs, adapted to dietary needs, allergies, and intolerances. Each box comes with recipes tailored to the dog’s health profile and is filled with ingredients from local and sustainable producers. The packaging design is guided by seasonal and content-based color coding—with palettes reflecting both the type of ingredients (grain, meat, vegetables, fruit) and the time of year. Handcrafted illustrations and art prints, created using traditional techniques, give each product a distinct, personal character.

The Challenge
The main challenge was to create a packaging system that is environmentally responsible, visually distinctive, and emotionally engaging—while clearly communicating content, origin, and nutritional value. It had to appeal to dog owners who value design as much as they value their pet’s well-being, and it needed to accommodate multiple product variations without losing brand cohesion.
The Solution
The identity combines a playful yet elegant logo, hand-drawn dog portraits, seasonal ingredient wreaths, and clear iconography for nutritional information (e.g., hypoallergenic, no wheat, local sourcing). The packaging consists of reusable cloth bags for individual ingredient categories and an outer box for delivery, both printed with soy-based inks on eco-friendly materials. The seasonal wreath illustrations connect nature, freshness, and care, while the color system provides intuitive navigation for consumers. The tactile quality of the prints and materials reinforces the handcrafted, sustainable ethos.
The Result
Oh my dog presents a holistic approach to dog nutrition packaging—merging sustainable production, local collaboration, and thoughtful design. It not only communicates product quality and ethical values but also creates an emotional connection between the owner, the food, and the pet. The result is a packaging system that feels as good as it looks—rooted in care, craft, and conscious living.
